Orange Thorn
The Orange Thorn is a small, spiny shrub that had stiff, shiny leaves. In the fork of each leaf are 3-5 teeth. These leaves are round and carried horizontally on the stem.
It is common for the small shrub to be seen on the edge of the patches of the rainforest and also inside the forest. It can grow up to 3 m. tall.
The small greenish-white, bell-shaped flowers, which occur in spring, may go unnoticed, but they are followed, in winter, by orange berries, 5-10 mm in diameter, containing several pale seeds. The species can be easily propagated from seed (germination: 1-2 months) but is slow growing.
